The Early Days

The son of an Iowa sharecropper, Robert H. Keough moved to Philadlephia to work for PECO. In 1945, at the end of World War II, he established his electrical contracting company. Since then, three generations of the Keough family have helped customers throughout Philadelphia and the Delaware Valley benefit from latest advances in electrical technology.

In 1963, Robert’s son Jerome Keough took the helm of the company, leading Keough Electric into the more specialized area of industrial/commercial electrical contracting.

These two display windows from the company’s early days were designed to illustrate founder Robert Keough’s goal of rewiring all homes with updated systems and technology.

Modern Times

Most recently, Keough Electric was joined in 1985 by the third generation, Dennis Keough, our current president. Dennis is a registered Professional Engineer. With this newest generation comes the same commitment and care that have helped the family business succeed from its beginning.

In 1999, Keough Electric moved from its original location near Broad St. to a newly renovated office and warehouse in South Philadelphia.

In 2017, the company moved to its current location, a newly renovated office and warehouse in the suburb of Yeadon, PA.
